Through the present Appeal, the Appellant assails the correctness of an order dated 07.07.2025 [hereinafter referred to as „Impugned Order‟] passed by the Family Court, whereby an application under Section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 filed by the Respondent claiming maintenance pendente lite has been allowed and the Appellant has been directed to pay maintenance at the rate of Rs.5,000/- per month from the date of filing of the said application until the date of order and thereafter, at the rate of Rs.7000/- per month.

The aforesaid directions have been issued by the Family Court after coming to a conclusion that the Appellant is earning an amount of Rs.40,000/- per month while working in a hospital as a patient attendant. However, the Appellant, before the Family Court, stated that his educational qualification is only till the 12th standard. The Appellant claims that he is working on daily wages and is earning approximately Rs.10,000/- per month, however, the same has been disbelieved by this Court.

It will be noted here that the amount awarded by the Family Court is bare minimum. The Respondent is required to survive on an amount which may not be sufficient for her survival in a costly city like New Delhi.

Accordingly, this Court does not deem it appropriate to interfere with the Impugned Order.

The present Appeal, along with the pending applications, is dismissed.
