The present writ petition impugns order dated 20th April, 2024, passed by the District Magistrate, South West District in the matter titled as Rita Pillai v. Payal Dewangan, whereby the complaint filed by the Petitioner under Section 22(3) of the Delhi Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (Amendment) Rules, 20161, has been rejected. 2.

The Petitioner has since preferred an appeal against the impugned order, under Rule 22(3)(4) of the Delhi Senior Citizens Rules before the Appellate Authority of Divisional Commissioner, which is currently pending adjudication.

that the Petitioner is limiting the prayers sought in the present writ petition and is only seeking this Court to issue directions to the Appellate Authority, to decide the Petitioner's appeal in a time bound manner. 4.

To this effect, counsel for the Petitioner states that the Petitioner has received a hearing notice for the Appeal dated 14th November, 2024, indicating that the date of hearing is scheduled for 20th November, 2024, however, the hearing did not advance on the said date. 5.

Considering the above and on the basis of the statement made by counsel for the Petitioner, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Appellate Authority of Divisional Commissioner to decide the appeal preferred by the Petitioner, being Appeal No. 979/2024, as expeditiously as possible.

All rights and contentions of the parties are reserved. The Court has not made any comment on the merits of the case. 7.

With the above directions, the present writ petition, is disposed of, along with pending application.
