The decision taken by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services to delegate the work of selection and appointment of Statutory Central Auditors (SCAs) in Public Sector Banks to individual Public Sector Banks from 2014-15 onwards has been assailed in this writ petition filed as a public interest litigation. 2.

Having regard to the contentions advanced by the petitioner, we found that the matter does not involve any element of public interest. May be it is open to the aggrieved parties to challenge the impugned decision by availing the appropriate remedies available under law, however, the matter does not deserve to be entertained as a public interest petition. 3.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
