This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.457/2013 under Section 406/498A IPC registered at PS Mangolpuri. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably and Respondent No.2 is living happily in the matrimonial home for the last about three years.

Respondent No.2/ Complainant is present before the Court and is identified by the Investigating Officer. I have enquired from her whether the matter has been settled with the petitioner, her brother-inlaw, amicably without fear and pressure. She has stated that the matter CRL.M.C. 1161/2016
has been settled with her in-laws without any fear or pressure and she is living happily in the matrimonial home for the last about three years.

Since the matter has been settled between the parties and the complainant is residing in the matrimonial home happily, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings under Section 406/498A IPC. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to maintain cordial relations, FIR No.457/2013 under Section 406/498A IPC registered at PS Mangolpuri and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
