Petitioner seeks premature release from the prison on the ground that he has completed actual incarceration of more than 16 years, and with remission, he has completed more than 20 years. It is submitted that the petitioner has maintained good conduct throughout the period of incarceration and on completion of 20 years with remission, he is now entitled for consideration of his name for premature release. 2.

The learned ASC, who appears for the respondent, submits that the name of the petitioner can be placed in the next meeting of Sentence Review Board ["SRB"] for consideration.

Considering above, the petition is disposed of with direction to place the case of the petitioner in the next meeting of SRB.
