This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.520/2018 dated 13th June 2018, under Sections 498A/406 IPC registered at P.S. Aman Vihar, Delhi based on settlement arrived at between the parties dated 15th February 2024 before the Counselling Cell, Family Courts, Rohini, which is on record of this Court.

Petitioner nos.1 and 2 and respondent no. 2 are present through VC along with their respective counsel. All of them are duly identified by the IO.

As per the settlement agreement, outstanding amount of Rs.2 lakhs has been handed over to respondent no. 2 by way of a Demand Draft no. 971499 dated 16th December 2024 drawn on Canara Bank. She has received the same in the presence of her counsel and states that she has no objection to the FIR being quashed.

Marriage of petitioner no.1 and respondent resulted in a divorce by decree dated 1st August 2024 by Principal Judge, North-West, Family Courts, Rohini. No child was born out of this wedlock. 5.
Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. 6.
Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.520/2018 dated 13th June 2018, under Sections 498A/406 IPC registered at P.S. Aman Vihar, Delhi and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 8.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending application is disposed of as infructuous.
