1. The only prayer in this writ petition by Petitioner Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. is for a direction to the Respondents to give appeal effect to the orders passed by the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal ('ITAT') dated 23rd December 2015 and 22nd January 2016 for the Assessment Years ('AYs') 2003-04 to 2008-09. If appeal effect is given to the said orders, the Petitioner would be entitled to refund.

2. Mr. P. Roy Chaudhuri, learned counsel for the Revenue on instructions states that the Department will pass appropriate orders to give appeal effect to the aforementioned orders of the ITAT not later than 18th April 2016. W.P.(C) No. 2503/2016 Page 1 of 2

3. In view of the above statement, no further directions are called for.

4. It will be open to the Petitioner to apply in case of non-compliance with above assurance.

5. The petition is disposed of in the above terms.
