This is the petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 read with Section 482 CrPC seeking quashing of the FIR No. 666/2014 registered at PS Paharganj under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC. 2.

During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement before the Mediation Cell, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi, wherein a sum of Rs. 9 lakhs was to be paid by the petitioner to the respondent No.2. A sum of Rs. 6 lakhs has already been paid by the petitioner and the balance sum of Rs. 3 lakhs is being paid today in Court vide DD The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The petitioner is present in Court and has been identified by Mr. Sarthak Gupta, learned counsel.

The respondent no.2 is also present in Court and has been identified by Ms. Pooja Verma, learned counsel and SI Vikas, PS Paharganj. 5.

The parties have arrived at a settlement out of their own free will and without any undue influence, threat, pressure or coercion. 6.

There is one minor child who is in the care and custody of the respondent no.2.

In terms of the judgement of 'Ganesh vs. Sudhir Kumar Srivastava' [(2020) 20 SCC 787], this order and the settlement arrived in between the parties will have no effect on the minor child towards claiming rights of inheritance, maintenance, education etc. 8.

In view of the aforesaid terms, the FIR No. 666/2014 registered at PS Paharganj under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed. 9.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
