O R D E R

% 24.03.2017 Respondent no. 2 submits that she has no objection in case FIR No. 219/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Palam Village is quashed, in view of the settlement arrived at between her and petitioner no. 1. Petitioner nos. 2 to 4 are relatives of petitioner no. 1. It is submitted that settlement has been arrived at before Counselling Cell, Family Courts, Dwarka Court, New Delhi on 8th February, 2016. Marriage of petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent on 9th November, 2016 passed by the Family Courts, Dwarka Court, New Delhi. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court along

with her counsel and has been identified by SI Daya Shankar, P.S. Palam Village. She admits having settled the matter with the petitioner no. 1 of her own free will and without any undue force, coercion and pressure. In terms of the settlement, petitioner no. 1 has paid `3,50,000/- by way of demand draft to the respondent no. 2, photocopy whereof has been placed on record. Respondent no. 2 submits that with this payment, entire settled amount stands paid. She further submits that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the parties and that marriage between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, FIR No. 219/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Palam Village and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
