The application stands disposed of.

This is the petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 205/2013 registered at PS Nihal Vihar under Sections 498A/406 of IPC.

During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi on 29.04.2024, wherein a sum of Rs. 15 lakhs was to be paid by the petitioner to the respondent no.2. The entire amount of Rs. 15 lakhs stands already paid by the petitioner.

There is no child born out of the wedlock.

The petitioner is present in Court and has been identified by Ms. Divya Kaushik, learned counsel.

The parties have arrived at a settlement out of their own free will and without any undue influence, threat, pressure or coercion. 7.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to continue any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In the view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 8.

In view of the aforesaid terms, the FIR No. 205/2013 registered at PS Nihal Vihar under Sections 498A/406 of IPC and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed. 9.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
