This petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for a direction to the Standing Screening Committee of the respondent/CISF to decide on the candidature of the petitioner for the post of Constable (GD) pursuant to the recruitment exercise conducted in 2022.

The case of the petitioner had been referred to the Standing Screening Committee vide order dated 24.10.2023. The petitioner complains that he has still not received any intimation thereafter on the decision of the Standing Screening Committee. 4.

The petitioner further submits that the next training programme By:SUNIL 16:23:16 W.P.(C) 17379/2024

is likely to start on 06.01.2025, and the petitioner will lose out again if the Standing Screening Committee does not pass its order before that date.

Notice is accepted by Mr.Brijesh Yadav, the learned counsel on behalf of the respondents.

Keeping in view the nature of the relief prayed for, we dispose of this petition by directing the respondent/Standing Screening Committee of the respondents to decide on the candidature of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today, by communicating its decision through a speaking order to the petitioner. In case the petitioner is found eligible for recruitment to the post of Constable (GD), the petitioner shall be allowed to join the next Basic Training, which will commence post this order. In case the order passed by the Screening Committee is adverse to the interest of the petitioner, it shall be open to the petitioner to challenge the same in accordance with law.

We make it clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the candidature of the petitioner to the above post. 9.
