The present petition under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 read with Section 151 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 has been filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of six months for making and publishing the Award.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent accepts notice. present petition is allowed and the time, as sought for on behalf of the petitioner, is extended.

This Court notes that on earlier occasion also, vide order dated 12.03.2024, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended by this Court for a period of eight months w.e.f. 09.04.2024 and the said period of eight months has now expired. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that proceedings before the Arbitral Tribunal have already been concluded and the matter is now pending for pronouncement of Award and publication.

Taking into account the submissions made before the Court, the mandate for concluding the arbitration proceedings and passing the arbitral award is extended for another period of three months, i.e. from 08.12.2024 to 07.03.2025.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 9.
