The present petition has been filed by the petitioner (wife of the deceased workman, Sh. Rakesh Singh), seeking a direction to respondent no.1 (District Magistrate, North) to execute the Recovery Certificate dated 19.06.2025 issued by the Commissioner, Employees' Compensation, North District, Delhi, under the Employees Compensation Act, 1923, for recovery of the compensation amount of Rs.7,88,240/- along with simple interest at the rate of 12% per annum with effect from the date of the accident, i.e., 12.03.2018 and Rs.5,000/- towards funeral expenses. A penalty of Rs.3,15,296/- is also due to be recovered from the respondent no.2. 4.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the prolonged and unexplained delay in executing the recovery certificate.

Learned counsel for the respondent no.1, who appears on advance notice, submits that a notice dated 27.11.2025 has been issued to the respondent no.2, directing the respondent no.2 to appear before the concerned officer. It is assured and undertaken that expeditious steps shall be taken to execute the recovery certificate and that the concerned officer shall act with due promptitude. The said statement is taken on record. 6.

In view of the aforesaid, no further directions are required to be issued at this stage.
