This is a petition under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act for extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for making the arbitral award.

It is stated that pursuant to the Order dated 04.05.2022 passed by a Division Bench of this Court in FAO(OS)(COMM) 104/2022, the Arbitral Tribunal was constituted in the matter to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. It is stated that the Ld. Arbitrator entered reference and the proceedings commenced on 12.05.2022.

Since the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal came to an end on 10.07.2023, the Petitioner approached this Court seeking extension of The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. It is stated that the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended from time to time and the last of such extension was granted by this Court on 18.12.2023 for a period of one year from 10.01.2024 which now expires on 09.01.2025. It is stated that since the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal will come to an end on 09.01.2025, the present petition has been filed by the Petitioner seeking for extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for making the Arbitral Award. It is stated that the Claimant's evidence is closed and the evidence of the Respondent is in progress.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of one year from 09.01.2025 so that the arbitral award can be passed in the matter.

The petition is disposed of along with pending application(s), if any.
