The Petitioner, a senior citizen, had filed an application dated 7th June, 2024 under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 before Respondent No.1, seeking cancellation of the gift deed bearing Registration No. 9718, registered on 11th October, 2023 in favour of Respondent No. 2.

The Petitioner states that the said application has not been decided till date, constraining him to file the instant petition. The limited relief sought in the present petition is a direction to Respondent No. 1 to decide the Petitioner's application in a time bound manner. It is also pointed out during the hearing that Respondent No. 2 has not filed their response/ reply to the aforenoted application. 4.
Mr. Anil Kaushik, Senior Counsel representing Respondent No. 2, assures that the reply shall be filed within a period of two weeks from today. 5.
Without going into the merits of the case, considering that substantial time has lapsed since the filing of the application, it is directed that Respondent No. 1 shall decide the application filed by the Petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from today.

With the above direction, the petition is disposed of along with pending application.

All rights and contentions of the parties are left open. 8.
