The present petition is filed by the petitioner challenging the judgment dated 06.04.2018 (hereafter 'impugned judgment'), passed by the learned Family Court, Central District, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi in MT No. 20/2016. 2.

By the impugned judgment, the learned Family Court allowed the petition filed by Respondent No. 1 wife under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 ('CrPC'), and directed the petitioner to pay ₹15,000/- per month to the respondents, who are his wife and children.

The petitioner has challenged the impugned judgment with a huge delay of more than 07 years.

The petitioner undisputedly appeared before the learned Family Court after the case was filed. However, then stopped appearing. The petitioner claims that he was told by the Respondent No. 1 wife that she will withdraw the petition, therefore, he did not bother to appear.

The reason indicated by the petitioner for not filing the present petition, within the period of limitation, is not satisfactory.

Undisputedly, there is a huge delay in filing the present petition.
