This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.481/2019 dated 20th November, 2019 registered at PS Anand Vihar, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC basis settlement dated 13th September, 2024, which is on record of this Court.

Petitioner Nos.1-2 and respondent No.2/complainant are present in Court and duly identified by the IO. Petitioner No.3 has since passed away. 3.
The outstanding balance of Rs.4 Lacs of the total settlement amount is being tendered vide DD No.015127 drawn on HDFC Bank to respondent No.2, who has received it in Court and acknowledges the same. 4.

quashed.

The marriage of petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 resulted in a divorce by decree dated 13th December, 2024 by the Judge, Family Court, Shahdara District, Karkardooma, Delhi. No child was born out of the wedlock.

Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.481/2019 dated 20th November, 2019 registered at PS Anand Vihar, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 7.
Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 8.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
