The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking information from respondent no.

1-New Delhi Municipal Council ("NDMC"), regarding current status of license for Shop No. 20, Janpath Bhawan, allotted vide License Deed dated 22nd September, 1970. 2.

On the last date of hearing, this Court vide order dated 01st December, 2025, recorded the following:

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner and respondent no. 2 are brothers. The shop in question had initially been allotted to the father of the petitioner. been attached as Annexure P-5, to submit that as per the policy of the NDMC, in case of transfer of license to legal heirs, the same has to be done by taking No Objection Certificate ("NOC") from the other legal heirs. Further, if there is a dispute, license cannot continue, till the dispute is settled.

Responding to the present writ petition, learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 1-NDMC submits that in the present case, the petitioner has already filed applications under the Right to Information Act ("RTI Act") to seek the information as sought by way of the present petition, which already stand rejected. He submits that two appeals of the petitioner are pending before the Central Information Commission. He, thus, submits that the present writ petition would not be maintainable.

He further submits that he shall take instructions as regards the status of the license of the shop in question. 5.

Accordingly, for instructions on behalf of respondent no. 1, renotify on 03rd December, 2025." 3.

When the matter was listed for hearing on the last date of hearing, this Court had directed learned counsel appearing for the respondent-NDMC, to take instructions as regards the status of the shop in question. 4.

Today, learned counsel appearing for the NDMC submits that the property is still in the name of the father of the parties, i.e., Mr. Chaman Lal Bajaj. He further submits that dues of over one crore towards arrears of license fee, is pending towards the said shop. 5.

Accordingly, the prayer made in the present petition regarding providing the current status of the shop in question stands satisfied. 6.

With the consent of the parties, the present petition is accordingly disposed of.
