This is a petition under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act for extension of mandate of the Sole Arbitrator for a period of six months for making the arbitral award.

Material on record indicates that the Petitioner filed OMP (I) COMM. 266/2022 for interim relief. Vide Order dated 09.09.2022, this Court appointed a Sole Arbitrator to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties. It is stated that the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator was extended by consent on 04.07.2024 for a period of six months. The mandate ends on 03.01.2025. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator for a period of six months from 03.01.2025 so that the arbitral award can be pronounced.
