This is a petition under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ["the Act"] seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of 8 months from 31.12.2024 for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of arbitral award 2.

It is stated that previously a similar petition under Section 29A of the Act was filed and this Court vide order dated 22.04.2024 in O.M.P.(MISC)(COMM.) 269/2024 had extended the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator for a period of eight (8) months till 31.12.2024. Mr. Abhishek Gola, learned counsel for the Respondent has entered appearance on advance service.

He states that he as well joins the request of the Petitioner. 5.

It is stated by the parties that the matter is at the stage of recording evidence of RW-2, and is next listed on 04.01.2025 and therefore prays for extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by 8 months. 6.

Having considered the averments made in the petition and in view of joint request of the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator for completion of arbitral proceedings and for passing an arbitral award is extended w.e.f. 01.01.2025 and until 31.08.2025. 7.

Keeping in view that the arbitral proceedings commenced on 04.08.2022, the parties are directed to cooperate with the Arbitral Tribunal in completion of the proceedings before 31.08.2025 and not seek any unnecessary adjournments.

The petition is disposed of in terms of the above. 9.
