Mamta Kumari v. Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou)
$~9 * IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI + W.P.(C) 2391/2017 MAMTA KUMARI ..... Petitioner Through Mr. Vijay Dahiya, Adv.
versus INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY (IGNOU) ..... Respondent Through Mr. Kirtiman Singh, Adv.
CORAM:
HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE INDERMEET KAUR
O R D E R
% 17.11.2017 In the course of arguments, it had been informed to the Court that the petitioner has been granted provisional admission in the Open Learning Distance College (for her B. Ed. Course at Meerut). Learned counsel for the respondent points out that the petition has become infructuous as the prayer made in the present petition has been answered for the reason that the petitioner has since been admitted to a B. Ed. Course which admission has been granted to her. Record has been perused. This Court notes that the submission of the petitioner that she should be granted additional marks and a revaluation of her paper be conducted was premised and answered in the order dated 16.03.2017. The respondent Department had been directed to produce the OMR sheet of the petitioner along with the answer key. This was ordered and the same was perused by the petitioner.
On 24.07.2017, this Court had also been informed that the petitioner has since been granted a provisional admission for her B. Ed course at Meerut.
This petition had remained pending as the petitioner wanted a transfer to Delhi. Submission being that the petitioner was a mother of a small child and it was difficult to her to travel to Meerut. In the course of arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner under instructions submits that this being a distance learning course, the petitioner does not have to travel to Meerut. Her papers can also be submitted online and the assignment submitted by her will be accepted online. This statement of the respondent is taken on record. The second submission of the respondent that the petitioner can opt for her examination centre in Delhi is also taken on record. Noting these two submissions of the respondent that the examination centre of the petitioner (as per choice can be opted for at Delhi) and her written assignments can be taken accepted online at Meerut, the petition is not pressed any further. Petition disposed of in the above terms.
