This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. moved by the petitioner for quashing of FIR No.85/2016 registered at Police Station Vasant Kunj, South Delhi under Section 354/354(D)/506 IPC and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom on the ground that the parties have compromised the matter. 2.

The complainant alleged in her complaint that a person known to her, namely, Tauqeer Ahmed Khan is blackmailing her from the last two months even after her marriage by saying that he will sent her nude pictures to her in-laws and ruin her life. He asked about her in-laws details, threatened her by messaging and calling her on new number. It was alleged that he also came to her working place, i.e., Paramount International School, Dwarka, Delhi and forced her to come with him and he has also sent some letters to the above said school. From last few days he was again forcing her to meet by blackmailing her. Further she alleged that on 3/2/2016 she went with her father who was there in the car and they met near Bus Stop ISIC Hospital, Vasant Kunj, Delhi where he came at around 8:00 am and forced her to come with him to his room and said that he would return all

her pictures whatever he was having. When she refused to go, then he forcefully pulled her hand and tried to snatch her phone. All this was seen by her father who caught him and she called the police on both 100 number and 1091 number. On the complaint of the complainant, present FIR has been registered. 3.

It is submitted by counsel for the petitioner that the parties are neighbours and with the intervention of family members, common friends, relatives and the well wishers, petitioner and respondent No.2 have settled their disputes amicably without there being any threat, coercion or pressure of any sort. 4.

The respondent No.2/complainant, who is present in person (duly identified by the Investigating Officer of the case) submits that she has amicably resolved all disputes with the petitioner without there being any threat, coercion or pressure of any sort and in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, she does not want any action against the petitioner and does not have any objection to quashing of the instant FIR.

Mr Rajesh Mahajan, ASC for State submits that in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, he has no objection to quashing of FIR but since the State machinery has been set in motion on account of the act of the petitioner, he be burdened with some costs.

Keeping in view the facts that the parties have compromised the matter with each other amicably, this matter deserves to be given a quietus as continuance of proceedings arising out of the FIR in question would be an exercise in futility and wastage of precious time of the Court. 7.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No.85/2016 registered at Police Station Vasant Kunj, South Delhi under Section 354/354(D)/506 IPC and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed subject to payment of Rs.30,000/- as costs which be deposited by the petitioner with PM Relief Fund within two weeks from today. Copy of receipt of deposit of costs be

placed on record.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
