W.P.(CRL) 965/2018 By this petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No. 1437/2017 under Sections 376/323/506/34 IPC registered at PS Mangol Puri on the complaint of respondent No. 2 on the ground that the parties have settled the matter. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the parties were admittedly on friendly relation and since the brother of the petitioner died he was constrained to marry the widow of his brother, when the above noted FIR was registered. Offence punishable under Section 376 IPC being serious in nature, the FIR in question cannot be quashed on the basis of compromise between the parties. Petition is dismissed.
