This is a petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator by a period of 12 months.

Ms. Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioners, states that the matter is at the stage of evidence and recording of evidence took some time and hence, the delay.

For the said reasons, issue notice.

Mr. Kumar, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and has no objection to the petition being allowed. 5.

I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay. 6.

For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by a period of 12 months from today. 7.
