The limited relief sought by the petitioners in the present petition is that the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission/ respondent no.1 be directed to expeditiously decide and dispose of the Consumer Complaint No. 1562 of 2019 filed by the petitioners.

This Court is not inclined to issue any peremptory directions to the SCDRC as sought by the petitioners inasmuch as it is for the State Commission to regulate its own calendar and schedule hearing/s. 5.

However, in view of the peculiar grievances highlighted by the petitioners, liberty is granted to the petitioners to move an application and/ or mention the matter before the concerned Bench of the State Commission and request for expeditious disposal of the Consumer Complaint No. 1562/2019 filed by the petitioners.

Upon such request being made by the petitioner/s, the said State Commission shall make an endeavour to accommodate the said request so as to dispose of the aforesaid complaint expeditiously and preferably within a period of 6 months from today.
