O R D E R

The present petition raises a grievance as regards the alleged illegal cutting of a 15-year-old banyan tree near the Route 901 Bus Stand, Scooter Market, Y-Block, Mangolpuri, Delhi allegedly by personnel of PWD. The petitioner reported the matter to the police authorities and also filed complaints before the respondent nos.1 to 3, however, to no avail. 2.

petition being W.P.(C) 3494/2025, filed by the petitioner, this Court vide order dated 20.03.2025 inter-alia, directed as under: "9. In the meantime, the concerned Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests, and the other respondents, including the concerned SHO, PS Mangolpuri, is directed to keep a strict vigil to ensure that there is no illegal cutting of trees in the area in question. In case any incident of cutting of trees occurs, stern action shall be taken by the concerned authority with regard thereto.

10. The petitioner would be at liberty to draw the attention of the concerned authorities with regard to any incident of illegal tree cutting, whereupon immediate steps, in accordance with law, shall be taken by the respondents."

Considering the circumstances, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.2 to enquire into the complaint of the petitioner as regards the illegal felling of the old banyan tree and take requisite action in accordance with law.

Let the necessary enquiry be conducted expeditiously and the outcome thereof be informed to the petitioner. 5.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms. Pending application also stands disposed of.
