The present petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter 'the A&C Act') seeks extension of time for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of arbitral award. 4.

This Court vide order dated 13.03.2023 passed in Arb. Petition No. 1139/2022, appointed a sole arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. It is submitted that the arbitral proceedings are at an advanced stage and final arguments are in the process of being addressed before the arbitral tribunal.

The initial 12 month period for completing arbitration proceedings lapsed on 03.06.2024. With mutual consent, the Arbitral Tribunal extended the time limit by six months under Section 29A (3) A&C Act. period expired on 03.12.2024. The petitioner now seeks a further one-year extension to complete the arbitration proceedings. 6.

It is jointly requested that appropriate extension of time be granted for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of arbitral award. 7.

In the circumstances, the time period for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral award is extended till 30.06.2025. 8.

The petition is allowed in the above terms.
