This petition has been filed for quashing Minutes of Meeting of Sentence Review Board (S.R.B.) dated 23rd February 2024. It is stated that the petitioner was convicted and sentenced vide judgment and order dated 3rd April 2012 and 11th April 2012 respectively, in FIR No.129/2007 registered at P.S. The petitioner has served about 15 years in custody and her case was placed before the Sentence Review Board. However, the said plea was rejected.

3.

The petitioner filed W.P.(CRL)505/2024 before the Supreme Court, Rani @ Manju v. State (Govt. of NCT of Delhi), which was finally disposed of on 9th December 2024, with liberty to petitioner to file appropriate proceedings before the High Court. The time of four weeks was granted by the Supreme Court and the extension of time to surrender was directed to continue for a period of four weeks.

The plea of the petitioner is inter alia based upon the medical condition of petitioner as she has been diagnosed with a lump on her left breast, as also, the fact that co-accused Puran @ Shankar has been prematurely released by order dated 25th June 2021 and similarly situated Imrana has also been released by the SRB's order dated 23rd February, 2024. 5.

Counsel for the State says that the matter can be reconsidered in the meeting of the Sentence Review Board (S.R.B.) which is slated in the last week of December 2024 or at best first week of January 2025. 6.

Accordingly, it is directed that the case of the petitioner be reconsidered in the Meeting of Sentence Review Board (S.R.B.) as noted above; a fresh consideration be made, uninfluenced by the previous rejections, and in accordance with law.

7.

By order dated 9th December, 2024, the Supreme Court had granted four weeks to the petitioner to surrender. Accordingly, petitioner will surrender on the expiry of this period.
