This is a petition seeking quashing of FIR No. 339/2022 dated 18.06.2022 filed u/s 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Sarai Rohilla. 2.

Parties have arrived at a settlement dated 26.05.2022 before Family Court, Mau, Uttar Pradesh, wherein the petitioner has to pay a sum of Rs. 8 lakhs.

3.

The entire amount of Rs. 8 lakhs has been paid. 4.

5.

Respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and is identified by IO ASI Anil, PS Sarai Rohilla.

6.

Respondent No. 2 states that she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR.

7.

There is no child born out of the wedlock.

8.

Parties state that they have arrived at the settlement out of their own free will without any threat, pressure, coercion or undue influence. 9.

I am of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the FIR any further on the ground that the parties have arrived at a voluntary settlement and settled their disputes. 10.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings as permitted to continue any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 11.

In this view of the matter, FIR No. 339/2022 dated 18.06.2022 filed u/s 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Sarai Rohilla is hereby quashed. 12.

The petition is disposed of.
