% 11.04.2018 This petition under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the petitioner seeking extension of time for making the Arbitral Award in the arbitration proceedings between the parties.

Learned counsel for the respondent appears on advance notice and submits that the respondent has no objection if the time for making of the Arbitral Award is extended, however, at the first instance it should be extended for a period of six months.

Having perused the contents of the petition as also the letter dated 19.02.2018 issued by the Office of the Chief Engineer, CPWD appointing a substitute Arbitrator, I deem it expedient in extending the time for making the Arbitral Award by a period of one year from today.

The petition is allowed in the above terms with no order as to cost. Dasti.
