The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking setting aside the seizure of the goods belonging to the Petitioner vide Detention Receipt No.004689 dated 24 Jun 2024.

The case of the Petitioner is that he purchased a gold bar of 100 grams from Saudi Arabia for the purpose of making personal jewellery back in India. On the arrival of the Petitioner at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi on 24 June 2024, the said gold was seized by the customs officers vide Detention Receipt (DR) No.004689 dated24 Jun 2024 wrongly citing reason of seizure as 'GreenChannel Violation'. 4.
Further, the Petitioner also seeks setting aside of the Order-in-Original dated 28th July, 2025.

On the last date of hearing, the Petitioner submitted that, in terms of order dated 2nd September, 2025 passed by this Court in W.P. (C) 13423/2025, the appeal was to be adjudicated by 30th November, 2025, which was not done.

The Order-In-Appeal has now been passed belatedly on 17th December, 2025, upholding the absolute confiscation of the Gold Bar in this matter.

The order submitted by ld. Counsel for the Respondent is taken on record.

All remedies of the Petitioner in respect of the Order in Appeal, are left open to be availed of in accordance with law. 9.
Petition is disposed of in these terms. All pending applications, if any, are also disposed of.
