The petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No. 2152/2014 under Section 354-A IPC Police Station Mehrauli, New Delhi, based on a settlement. 2.

The parties are neighbours. The subject FIR was registered consequent to a dispute which took place between the parties on the issue of parking of vehicles and the allegation of the respondent is that she was physically assaulted by the petitioner.

It is contended that with the intervention of respectable people of the locality, the parties have settled their disputes.

The petitioner has regretted his conduct and expressed remorse and assured that no such thing shall be repeated in future. Respondent No.2 has accepted the apology.

Respondent no. 2 is present in person in Court today, represented by her counsel and is identified by the Investigating Officer. She submits that she has settled all the disputes with the intervention of respectable people of the locality.

She further submits that she does not wish to press the criminal complaint against the petitioner any further and is agreeable to the quashing of the subject FIR.

In view of the fact that the parties have resolved their disputes and respondent No. 2 does not wish to press her complaint, continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace and harmony are restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would also be expedient to quash the subject FIRs and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed. FIR No. 2152/2014 under Sections 354-A IPC Police Station Mehrauli, New Delhi and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are, accordingly quashed. 6.
