By way of the instant petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 340/2021 dated 22.05.2021, registered at Police Station Govind Puri, for the offences punishable under Sections 323/506/354/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are appeared before this Court. They have been identified by their counsel and concerned Investigating The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case, as discernible from the records, are that on 22.05.2021, upon receiving DD No. 18A I, Police official reached the spot of incident, however, he had not found the caller there. Thereafter, the present complainant filed a written complaint at PS Govind Puri against the present petitioner(s) wherein she stated that on the same day, at about 9:30 a.m., the present petitioners, who resided opposite to the complainant's house, started beating the complainant's son, aged 10 years, while he was playing in the street. In order to save her son, the complainant had reached there and thereafter, the petitioners, namely Anoop and Soma, physically assaulted the complainant by beating her and the petitioner, namely Anoop, threatened to kill her and had also sexually assaulted her due to which her clothes had been torn. On the basis of the aforesaid allegations, the present FIR bearing no. 340/2021 came to be registered against the petitioners.

It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Memorandum of Understanding, dated 24.09.2024, entered between them and their statements to the said effect have been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial) on 19.03.2025. 7.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Respondent no. 2 further states that she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 8.

differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 340/2021, registered at Police Station Govind Puri, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 323/506/354/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 11.
