The present petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioners under Section 482 Cr.P.C. (now Section 528 of BNSS, 2023) seeking quashing of FIR No. 572/2025, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS-Jaitpur and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the ground that the parties have arrived at a settlement.

The petitioner no.1 (husband), petitioner nos. 2 to 10, who are close relatives of petitioner no. 1, as well as, respondent no. 2 (wife) are present in the Court and they have been identified by Mr. C.S. Gumani, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr. Akhil Rexal, learned counsel for respondent no.2, as well as, by the Investigating Officer i.e. SI Satbir Singh, P.S. Jairpur, Delhi.

The brief facts of the case are that the marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 was solemnized on 20.11.2019 according to Hindu Rites and Customs. However, on account of certain disputes differences and misunderstanding between the parties, respondent no.2 lodged a complaint before CAW Cell, Srininiswapuri, New Delhi, which led to the registration of the present FIR.

During pendency of the proceedings, the parties were referred to Counselling Cell of Family Court, Saket, where they arrived at a settlement, terms whereof were reduced in writing in the form of Reconciliation/Settlement dated 20.11.2025 which is annexed as Annexure P-2 to the present petition.

The petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have amicably settled their matrimonial disputes and are living together in a rented accommodation and have decided to lead a happy married life. They agreed to cooperate with each other in all possible manner, and shall fulfil all their duties and responsibilities towards each other. It is also a term of the settlement that parties shall cooperate with each other in quashing of the aforesaid FIR. 8.

The respondent no.2, on a query posed by the Court, affirms the fact that she and petitioner no.1 are living together as husband and wife and also The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

states that she has no objection if the FIR in question is quashed. 9.

In view of the fact that the parties have arrived at a settlement, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them.

It is, thus, in the interest of justice that the present FIR and all the other proceedings emanating therefrom be quashed. 11.

Consequently, the petition is allowed and the FIR No. 572/2025, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS-Jaitpur and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is quashed. 12.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms. 13.
