This is a petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator by a period of 12 months.

It is stated by learned counsel for the petitioner that the records were voluminous and hence, the delay.

On the last date, Mr. Sharma, learned counsel appeared for the respondent and sought time to obtain instructions. 4.

There is nobody appearing on behalf of the respondent today. 5.

I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay. 6.

For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator is extended by a period of 12 months from today.
