The present petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioner under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of FIR No. 019/2025, under Section 78 BNS registered at PS-Janak Puri Metro and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the ground that the parties have arrived at a settlement.

Mr. Tarang Srivastava, learned APP accepts notice on behalf of respondent no.1/State and submits that chargesheet has not yet been filed. 4.
The petitioner is present in court whereas the respondent no. 2 has joined through VC. They have been identified by Mr. Chirag Madan, learned counsel for the petitioner, as well as, by the Investigating Officer i.e. ASI Shah Nawaj, P.S. Janak Puri Metro, Delhi. 5.
The case of the prosecution is that on 10.11.2025, when respondent no.2 boarded a Metro and was going towards Nawada Metro Station to learn The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. sewing work, the petitioner followed her with ill intention of causing harm to her. Being terrified by such an act of the petitioner, the respondent no.2 lodged a complaint with allegations of stalking against the petitioner, which led to the registration of the present FIR.

During pendency of the proceedings, with the intervention of the near and dear ones, the parties have settled all their disputes, terms whereof were reduced in writing in the form of compromise/Settlement deed dated 04.12.2025 which is annexed at pages 26 to 28 to the present petition. 7.
On a query posed by the Court, the respondent no.2 affirms the factum of settlement and also states that she does not wish to prosecute the criminal proceedings and has no objection if the FIR in question is quashed. 8.
In view of the fact that the parties have arrived at a settlement, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the proceedings, rather it would be an exercise in futility.

It is, thus, in the interest of justice that the present FIR and all the other proceedings emanating therefrom be quashed. 10.
Consequently, the petition is allowed and the FIR No. 019/2025, under Section 78 BNS registered at PS-Janak Puri Metro and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is quashed. 11.
The petition stands disposed of in the above terms. 12.
