This is a petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator by a period of 6 months.

It is stated by learned counsel for the petitioner that there was some delay in arbitral process on account of adjournments and hence, the delay. 3.

For the said reasons, issue notice.

Mr. Sudhinder, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed. 5.

I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay. 6.

For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator is extended by a period of 6 months from 31.12.2025. 7.
