By way of the present petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter, referred to as 'A&C Act'), the petitioner seeks extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal comprising of learned Sole Arbitrator for another three months. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the preliminary hearing in the arbitration matter was held on 15.02.2023 and pleadings in the matter were completed on 26.05.2023, whereafter, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended by mutual consent of the parties w.e.f. 27.05.2024 for 6 months i.e. till 26.11.2024. He further submits that the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal has expired on 26.11.2024. 3.

Learned counsel for the parties submit that the final arguments in the matter were concluded on 24.05.2024 and the arbitral proceedings are now at the stage of passing an award.

Considering the aforesaid request and no objection given by the other side, the present petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a period of six months w.e.f. 26.11.2024. It is further observed that any proceedings conducted after the last mandate expired, shall also stand validated and regularised.
