% 10.07.2018 Respondent no.2 Mr.Ramanand is present along with his counsel in Court and has been identified by ASI Birender Singh of PS Chhawla. He submits that he has settled the matter with the petitioners of his own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion vide MOU dated 21.03.2018. Petitioners have paid `5 lacs to the respondent no.2 today in Court vide two demand drafts, photocopies whereof have been placed on record.
Respondent no.2 submits that with this payment he has received entire settled amount and he has no objection in case FIR No. 401/2017 under Sections 420 IPC registered at police station Chhawala (South-West) is quashed against the petitioners.
Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between petitioners and respondent no.2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be
served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
