The present Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking issuance of a Writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce Ms.XXX, the daughter of the petitioner.

The petitioner had suspected the role of the respondent nos. 4 and 5 in disappearance of his daughter. Regular Status Reports have been filed by the respondent nos. 1 to 3 showing the efforts made to trace out the missing girl. A further Status Report dated 04.05.2026 has also been placed on record. We find that the respondent nos. 1 to 3 are making sincere efforts to trace out the missing girl, but unfortunately her whereabouts could not be ascertained till now.

Accordingly, we dispose of this petition by directing the respondent nos. 1 to 3 to continue to make further efforts to trace out the missing girl and file periodical reports, on a bi-monthly basis, before the concerned Magistrate. They shall also keep the petitioner informed of the efforts made.

The petitioner shall be entitled to participate in the proceedings before the concerned Magistrate and provide further clues, if any available.

The petition stands disposed of with the above directions.
