The present petition has been filed seeking following reliefs: "(a) Issue an appropriate order or direction, directing the I, the concerned court of Judicial Magistrate I Class (NI Act), Patiala House Court, New Delhi to decide and conclude the following connected matters arising out of same Settlement Agreement dated 05.05.2022 expeditiously and within a stipulated time:

Issue an appropriate order or direction, directing the concerned court of Judicial Magistrate I Class (NI Act), Patiala House Court, New Delhi to conduct physical hearings with the accused present on all subsequent dates in terms of the Judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Sanjabi} Tari v. Kishore S. Borcar, 2025 SCC SC 2069." 2.

Mr. Arvind Nayar, learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the subject criminal complaints have been filed by the petitioner.

He submits that the cheques which are the subject matter of all these complaints were given to the petitioner in terms of settlement which was arrived at on 05.05.2022.

He submits that Section 143(3) of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 mandates that an endeavour shall be made to conclude trial of complaint under section 138 of NI within six months from the date of filing of the complaint.

He urges the Court that considering the mandate of Section 143(3) of the Act as well the work load on the NI Courts, direction may be given to the learned Trial Court to make an endeavour to dispose of the subject complaint cases at least in 18 months from today. 6.

Having regard to the limited prayer made in the present petition, the learned Trial Court is requested to make an endeavour to dispose of the complaint cases within a period of 18 months from today. The petition along with pending application, is disposed of in the above terms.
