Accordingly, the application stands disposed of. W.P.(CRL) 4213/2025, CRL.M.A. 37945/2025 (for interim orders) 3.

This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 seeks quashing of the impugned show cause notice dated 08th December, 2025 issued by the Respondent.

4.

The Petitioner is the holder of a valid arms licence, which is valid till 15th June, 2030.

5.

The Office of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Licensing) has issued the impugned order-cum-show cause notice alleging that the Petitioner failed to make full disclosure of material information relating to his alleged criminal involvement, thereby rendering him unfit to possess a licensed weapon under Section 17(3) of the Arms Act, 1959 and the terms and conditions governing the arms licence.

6.

The said impugned notice also suspends the Petitioner's licence with immediate effect, and he has been directed to deposit the weapon in his possession with the nearest police station or an authorised arms dealer in Delhi.

7.

It is not in dispute that the Petitioner is yet to file a reply to the show cause notice and, consequently, no final opinion has been formed by the licensing authority on the issues raised therein. 8.

At this stage, therefore, the Court refrains from expressing any opinion on the merits of the allegations. However, it is noted that one of the cases referred to in the show cause notice, namely FIR No. 378/2022, is stated to have been quashed by this Court.

9.

Counsel for the Petitioner undertakes that a reply to the show cause notice shall be filed within a period of three days from today. The officer representing the licensing department has assured the Court that a decision on the show cause notice shall be taken within four weeks from the date of receipt of the Petitioner's reply.

Having regard to the aforesaid circumstances, and considering the Petitioner's submission that he has been receiving sustained threats to his The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

safety and has made complaints in that regard, as well as the fact that the remaining two FIRs referred to in the show cause notice pertain to a period prior to the grant of the arms licence, it is directed that, till a final decision is taken on the show cause notice, the direction requiring deposit of the weapon shall remain in abeyance.

11.

With the above directions, the present petition is disposed of along with pending application(s).

12.

The Court has not commented on the merits of the case. All rights and contentions of the parties are left open.
