The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 and 2 to decide the petitioner's application under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of the Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (filed under Diary No. 5672 dated 24.10.2017).

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the said application has now been transferred to the Maintenance Tribunal constituted under the aforesaid Act. The learned counsel appearing for respondent nos. 1 and 2 states that the petitioner's application was not taken up as the Maintenance Tribunal was not constituted at the relevant time. He states that the Maintenance Tribunal has since then been constituted and is now functional.

In view of the above, the present petition is allowed and the Maintenance Tribunal (Karampura, Delhi) is directed to consider the

petitioner's application in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and dispose of the same preferably within a period of ten weeks from today. 4.
