O R D E R

% 25.10.2018 The petitioner seeks parole to file an SLP against his conviction for which he is undergoing sentence. He has been incarcerated for more than 7 years 11 months and 1 day as of 30.06.2018.

Ms. Vohra, the learned counsel for the State submits that the case of the petitioner is peculiar and as many as eight other criminal cases are pending against him. Furthermore, his conduct in jail is not satisfactory. He has assaulted another convict with an iron pipe on his legs. 3.

Be that as it may, his right to file an appeal cannot be trifled with and he must be granted liberty to file an appeal against his conviction. 4.

In the aforesaid circumstances, the petitioner is granted parole for two weeks on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/- with three sureties of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent concerned, subject to the following conditions:-

(1) The petitioner shall report to the SHO, concerned Police Station, Kalyanpuri, Delhi, once a week, on every Tuesday during the period of parole.

(2) He shall furnish his telephone number to the SHO concerned, which the petitioner shall keep operational at all times. (3) He shall not leave the territory of NCT of Delhi. (4) The petitioner shall surrender before the Jail Authorities at the expiry of the period of parole.

With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed-off. 6.

A copy of this order be given dasti to the learned counsel for the parties and a copy be sent to the Jail Superintendent concerned, through the police.
