O R D E R

% 18.04.2018 Crl.M.A.6974/2018 (Exemption) Exemption is allowed subject to all just exceptions. CRL.M.C. 1962/2018 1.

The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 595 of 2014 under Sections 323/354/354B/34 of the IPC Police Station Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, based on a settlement. It is contended that the dispute emanates out of a matrimonial discord.

Respondent no. 2 is mother in law of the daughter of petitioner no. 1 and

5. Petitioner no. 2, 3 and 4 and petitioner no. 6 are relatives of the daughter of petitioner no. 1 & 5.

It is contended that with the intervention of senior members of the family, the parties have settled their disputes. The Settlement Deed dated 22.04.2018 has been executed before Mediation CRL.M.C. 1962/2018

Centre, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi on 24.02.2018. 3.

Learned counsel for the parties informed that there is a cross FIR being FIR No. 578/2014 under Section 354B of the IPC at Police Station Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. The said FIR has been quashed by an order of today's date in Crl. M.C. No. 1995/2018.

Respondent no. 2 is present in person in Court today, represented by counsel and is identified by the Investigating Officer. She submits that she has settled the disputes with the intervention of senior members of the family.

Respondent No. 2 submits that she does not wish to press the criminal complaint against the petitioners any further. 5.

In view of the fact that the disputes between the parties has been settled, continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would also be expedient to quash the subject FIRs and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

In view of the above, the petitions are allowed. FIR No. 595 of 2014 under Sections 323/354/354B/34 of the IPC Police Station Uttam Nagar, New Delhi and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are, accordingly quashed.
