The petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.305/2014 under Sections 384/354D/506 IPC, Police Station Timarpur.

The parties were known to each other having met through a common friend.

They were also studying at the time when the subject incident happened.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the parties have settled their disputes with the intervention of the friends and relatives and a settlement/compromise deed dated 28.03.2018 has been executed between CRL.M.C. 2152/2018

the parties.

Respondent No.2 is present in person and identified by the Investigating Officer. She submits that she has settled her disputes with the petitioner.

She further submits that she does not wish to press her complaint any further.

In view of the settlement and keeping in view that the petitioner is preparing for an advance examination and is studying and keeping his future prospects and career in mind, in my view continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would be expedient to quash the subject FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed. FIR No.305/2014 under Sections 384/354D/506 IPC, Police Station Timarpur and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are, accordingly quashed, subject to the petitioner depositing costs of Rs.5,000/- with the "Prisoners Welfare Fund, Jail No. 13, Mandoli", Mangal Pandey Marg, Harsh Vihar, Village Mandoli, Delhi, within a period of two weeks from today. Receipt of deposit of the costs imposed by this order be furnished to the concerned Investigating Officer within a period of four weeks from today. 7.
