By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 0019/2023, registered at Police Station New Delhi Railway Station, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354/509 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 4.

Brief facts of the case are that on 19.02.2023, the petitioner herein has misbehaved with the respondent no. 2. Upon the complaint being filed by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioner. It is stated that both the parties have now amicably settled their disputes vide Settlement Agreement dated 18.11.2024. 7.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 & 3 who have been identified by the IO concerned, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, they have no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 0019/2023, registered at Police Station New Delhi Railway Station, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354/509 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to petitioner depositing a sum of Rs.10,000/- with the Delhi Police Welfare Society within a period of one week from date.
