This is a petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator by a further period of 1 year for making and publishing the final Award.

Mr. Malik, learned counsel for the petitioner, states that the crossexamination of the witnesses was lengthy and took some time. Hence, the delay.

For the said reasons, issue notice.

Mr. Juneja, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed but has objection to the averments made in the petition.

In the view of the above, without admitting any of the contents of the petition by the respondent, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by a period of 1 year from 31.12.2025. 7.
