The case pertains to sexual assault upon a girl aged eight years and her murder.

As per Nominal Roll received from the Jail Authorities, applicant is in custody for the last 7 years 2 months 18 days, as on 14.02.2026 3.
Learned counsel for applicant submits that keeping in mind the abovesaid long incarceration period and in view of the peculiar facts of the case, it is a fit case where applicant should be enlarged on bail. 4.
However, after hearing arguments for some time, learned counsel for the applicant submits that without prejudice to his rights and contentions, he would not press the present applicant, if some time-bound directions are given to the learned Trial Court to expedite the disposal of the case. 5.
The next date before the learned Trial Court is stated to be 24.04.2026. 6.
Learned trial Court is requested to expedite the abovesaid trial, particularly keeping in mind the abovesaid long incarceration period, and to give utmost priority to the abovesaid trial and to dispose of the matter within a period of six months from the date it takes up the same.
