By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 0022/2014, registered at Police Station Kalyanpuri, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 308/323/341/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and its consequential proceedings.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

The petitioners and respondent nos. 2 and 3 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Kalyanpuri, Delhi. 6.
Brief facts of the present case are that petitioners and respondent nos. 2 and 3 are residents of the same vicinity and known to each other. It is stated that due to some misunderstanding, respondent nos. 2 and 3 had filed a complaint against the petitioners before the concerned Police Station, culminated into the present FIR. It is stated that chargesheet in this case stands filed before the concerned Court. During pendency of the case, both the parties have amicably settled their disputes vide Settlement Deed dated 10.12.2024.

As per the MLC, the injuries sustained by respondent nos. 2 and 3 are simple in nature.

On instructions, the learned APP for the State submits that the petitioners have no previous involvement and the present case is pending trial for the last 10 years.

On a query made by this Court, respondent nos. 2 and 3, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Respondent nos. 2 and 3 further states that they have no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 10.
In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 0022/2014, registered at Police Station Kalyanpuri, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 308/323/341/506/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
